FAQ

What is a New Build Snagging Inspection?

A new build snagging inspection is a thorough assessment of a newly constructed property to identify any defects, issues, or incomplete work. It involves detailed checks of the construction quality, finishes, fixtures, and fittings to ensure that the property meets the required standards and specifications.

Why Should You Consider a New Build Snagging Inspection?

Opting for a new build snagging inspection is essential to safeguard your investment and ensure that you receive a high-quality, defect-free property. It provides peace of mind by addressing any construction deficiencies, potentially saving you from future repair costs and disputes with developers.

When to Arrange a New Build Snagging Inspection?

Inspections can take place at any time within two years of handover. The inspection can be booked before the final handover from the developer. to allow sufficient time to address any identified issues prior to completion, which ensures that the property is delivered in the best possible state, meeting your expectations and quality standards.

Or the inspection can be conducted after handover which comes with the added benefit of drone footage and thermal imaging.

What to Expect from a New Build Snagging Inspection Report?

A comprehensive new build snagging inspection report includes detailed findings, photographic evidence, and recommendations for resolving the identified issues. It serves as a valuable document for communicating with the developer and seeking necessary corrections or improvements. On average we will find 150-200 snags in a three bedroom property, sometimes more, sometimes less. Any major defects or safety concerns will be discussed directly with Site Management on the day. View our sample report to see the type of things snagging surveys identify.

What Experience will my Inspector Have?

All of our inspectors have a minimum of 5 years experience in residential site management, as well as previous time served on the tools. They all hold Level 6 qualifications in Construction Site Management, accreditation with RICS or RPSA and are fully insured.
